The count down

How are you all doing with your Christmas preparations?  Have you started yet...or like me have you nearly finished.  I decided that this year I wasn't going to run around at the last minute on Christmas Eve buying that last gift!  So I started early...casually and gradually.  Slow and unhurried.

Every year I like to do a different colour theme at the Christmas table.  This year I'm doing shades of pink...yes I know, very untraditional but I like stretching the imagination...I made my table napkins which have green leaves and pink hydrangeas, my candles for the candlelabra are various shades of pink....I'll show you the table when I take pics on Christmas day.

I've used so many tealights already I need to get shares in the company that make them!  I love the glow they give, and the shadows that dance on the walls.  These pretty vintage looking tealight holders come from that lovely Swedish store we all love...

I'm decorating the tree, and guess what...like hundreds of people, my tree lights didn't work.  So new lights are on the cards if hubby can't fix these!  Pics of the tree so far...I'll be adding more baubles as I decorate the rest of the house.

This is a very traditional German Christmas decoration, depicting baby Jesus in the crib at the top with the shepherds and three kings...the heat from the candles allow the propellors to turn around and the figures inside also turn around...I bought this in Namibia, Africa.  It comes out every year and used to fascinate my children when they were little.

I baked these chocolate chip cookies this morning, dusted with a little edible glitter as always.  I'm taking these to the girls in the office this morning!  After all, it's Christmas...so a little indulgence won't go amiss!

I know...this isn't an interior post...
next time...

Have a good weekend!

  3. Hi Sharon,
I am so sorry, I forgot you had this other blog. Now I am here I will remember, I hope.
How fun to see your interior and to see how you do things in your very own space and it's lovely. I can't wait to see the pink table, it's going to be NICE, I know.
I adore the little traditional German Christmas decoration, I love those. My hubby visited Namibia several years ago, too bad I didn't tell him to look for one of those for me.
Have a lovely day, my friend.
    Hugs, Cindy
