Christmas past

I've been reluctant to take the last of the Christmas decorations down.  Although no tinsel or tree, I felt like I wanted to keep the stars and metal ring on display.  The candles on the ring have worn down well and all that's left are 12 candle stumps.  Just like I planned, my Christmas table was pared down, a little bit of sparkle, but keeping it natural.  I had to resist the urge to bling it up....but as a compromise I added a few silver pine cones.   The blue crackers seemed to echo the slightly blue/grey tinge on the foliage as well as gave the table a bit of colour.  I took a few pears, added little pieces of edible gold leaf to a few of them and made some homemade tags with the bird stamp kit I have to finish off the design.

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last post and welcome to my new follower Svetlana Dolgova.

Have a great week!
